1. Scope and Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how Flying V Studios ("Flying V," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit maraudersea.com, play Marauder's Sea, create an account, purchase a membership, contact support, or otherwise use our related services (collectively, the "Service").

This Policy applies to the Service operated by Flying V. Third-party websites, platforms, payment services, and advertisements have their own privacy practices.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

We receive information directly from you, automatically from your browser or device, from gameplay systems, and from service providers such as authentication, hosting, payment, analytics, security, and advertising partners.

3. How We Use Information

4. Public Player Information

Marauder's Sea is a competitive multiplayer game. Display names, player identifiers, match history, rankings, statistics, achievements, team information, and similar competitive data may be visible to other players or the public. We may also show recent display names or an account restriction indicator when reasonably useful for moderation, transparency, or preventing impersonation. Do not use a display name that reveals information you do not want made public.

5. Cookies, Google Advertising, and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Service working, remember settings, protect accounts, measure traffic and performance, prevent fraud, and support advertising. Some are placed by Flying V, while others are placed or read by third parties.

We expect to use Google advertising services, such as Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, collect IP addresses or other identifiers, and receive information about your browser, device, visits, ad impressions, clicks, and interactions. Google may use this information to deliver and measure advertisements, limit repeated ads, detect invalid traffic or abuse, and, when permitted and selected, personalize advertising based on interests or activity across sites and apps.

Non-personalized ads may still use cookies or identifiers for functions such as frequency capping, aggregated reporting, security, and fraud prevention. Where required by law, we will request consent before activating nonessential advertising or analytics technologies and will offer a way to change your choices.

Learn more about Google's practices at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and manage Google advertising choices through My Ad Center.

You may also control cookies through your browser. Blocking certain cookies may affect login, preferences, measurements, or other Service functions.

6. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to:

We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of personalized advertising may be considered "selling," "sharing," or targeted advertising under some privacy laws. Where applicable, you may opt out using our cookie or privacy controls, a recognized browser-based opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control, or by contacting us.

7. Legal Bases for Processing

Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we process personal data as needed to perform our contract with you; based on legitimate interests such as operating, securing, moderating, and improving the Service; with consent for certain cookies, personalized advertising, or communications; and to comply with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

8. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, maintaining competitive integrity, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, meeting accounting or legal obligations, and protecting security. Retention depends on the type of data, account status, sensitivity, operational need, legal requirements, and risk of harm.

Account and gameplay records may remain while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. Security, moderation, anti-cheat, transaction, and legal records may be kept longer when needed to prevent repeat abuse, document enforcement, complete financial reporting, or establish or defend legal claims. Backup copies may remain temporarily after deletion until overwritten through ordinary backup cycles. We may retain aggregated or deidentified information that no longer reasonably identifies you.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and should notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.

10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of certain personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; opt out of targeted advertising or certain sales or sharing; and appeal a denied privacy request. You may also manage cookies and advertising choices as described in Section 5.

To submit a request, email help@maraudersea.com and identify the account and request. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, subject to verification. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. Some information may be retained or excluded from a request when allowed by law, including for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or internal recordkeeping.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 may not create an account or provide personal information unless Flying V has expressly enabled an age-appropriate experience and obtained verifiable parental consent required by law. We do not knowingly use personal information from children under 13 for personalized advertising.

A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information without authorization should contact help@maraudersea.com. We will investigate and delete the information when required. Additional age limits or consent requirements may apply in some countries.

12. International Data Transfers

Flying V and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections or adequacy mechanisms.

13. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may contain third-party login tools, payment services, advertisements, or links. Those parties may collect information directly from you and apply their own terms and privacy policies. This Policy does not control independent third-party practices.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service, advertising practices, vendors, or laws change. We will post the revised Policy and update the effective date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice through the Service, email, or another reasonable method where required.
